One Man's View of Agile Acquisition--And a Darn Good One, Too
I will cast an opening bid in the discussion of what agile acquisition is by posting a new video by Matthew Kennedy. I think I know who Matthew is, but I will make sure and share more later about this mystery man.
For now let me share what is for me the key takeaway from his video: "What do we need to change if we want to go from a traditional acquisition approach to an agile acquisition approach? The answer is almost everything."
And there's the crux of the discussion for this category. How do we go about changing almost everything about traditional acquisition? What do contracts look like? How about requirements? How do we evaluate bids or measure performance? When does an agile acquisition actually end? Should we stick with the same supplier all the way through? If the supplier constantly is delivering, how can we switch suppliers to gain innovation or save money or handle performance issues?
